City of Garland Supports United Way Veteran Homeownership Project
Veterans are mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, neighbors and friends. As a way to say “Thank You” for all they do to keep us safe, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas wants to add ‘homeowner’ to that list.
United Way will connect two United States veterans with the opportunity to purchase an energy efficient home with lower monthly payments, lower utility bills, all closing costs paid, and $0 down from Green Extreme Homes and the City of Garland. The home (and keys!) will be presented to the two veterans on November 11 during United Way’s Nine for 90 event* featuring Dallas Cowboys legend Roger Staubach.
As part of our Nine for 90* events, presented by Texas Instruments, United Way is raising awareness about the urgent need for veteran job training and affordable housing, and we’re bringing together a dream team to help us do it . This month’s Nine for 90 is sponsored by Citi and supported by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Energy Future Holdings and La Quinta.
Are You a Veteran Who Wants to be a Homeowner?
