Garland Senior Activity Center Recognized for Promoting Safe Driving

The Garland Senior Activity Center has received a national award, the AARP Driver Safety’s Top 100 Host Award. This award is presented to the top 100 organizations that promote safe driving in their communities through AARP Driver Safety courses and events.
The Garland Senior Activity Center hosted 18 courses in 2013, reaching 267 participants. These classes are publicized in the Garland Parks department Play Activity Guide, the Garland Senior Activity Center’s monthly Silver Scoop, and online at GarlandParks.com.
AARP officials recognized Garland for its ongoing leadership, commitment and generosity to make the community safer for all road-users.
