The City of Garland wants to hear from Garland teens about growing a better community now and for the future. The Garland Youth Council will host Garland Teen Talk on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Garland City Hall.
During this free event, Garland teens will have the opportunity to learn how the city government affects their lives, and then provide their insights about what they like best about Garland and where they see opportunities for improvement. Teens will share their vision for neighborhoods, fun and entertainment, community service and much more.
The Garland Youth Council is appointed by the Garland City Council to provide a voice for Garland’s youth in the local government process and to help educate their peers about the role local government plays in their lives. The Garland Youth Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Granger Recreation Center, 1310 W. Avenue F.
Garland Teen Talk is a free event and is open to youth in grades 9 through 12. Registration is required by 5 p.m. March 21, 2014. To register for the event and to learn more about the Garland Youth Council, visit GarlandYouthCouncil.org.
