The Preservation Society for Spring Creek Forest will host the Annual Trout Lily Tour on Saturday, February 22 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tours are free to the public and begin in the park pavilion at the Spring Creek Forest Preserve, 1770 Holford Road.
The Trout Lily is one of the first wildflowers to begin flowering each year. The flowering period is only 2 to 4 weeks long and the entire plant cycle is complete in about 10 weeks.
The tour is designed for both the novice and advanced naturalist, and is an excellent way to learn more about our local environment. The tour will be held rain or shine, so come prepared for the weather.
