As construction of downtown infrastructure improvements and the City Center development proceed, some street closures are necessary.
The portion of Austin Street east of the Granville Performing Arts Center (GPAC) main entrance at Fifth and Austin streets will be closed to through traffic as of Dec. 26, 2013. Patrons will still have access to the main entrance drives for entry and exit of events at the Atrium and GPAC. This eastern portion of Austin Street will remain closed for the duration of the City Center construction project.
State Street is closed to through traffic from Third Street to Fifth Street (with local access only to residences and businesses to the east of the KCS Railroad). State Street will not reopen until the completion of the City Center development, currently anticipated in late 2014 or early 2015
The attached State Street Closure map details parking accessibility, as well as the recommended pedestrian path for those visiting City Hall. Access to City Hall visitor parking at the southeast corner of State and Fifth Streets will be maintained.
