Environmental Waste Services will work Saturday and Monday to continue picking up the large amounts of brush at the curb. On both of those days, they will be picking up brush in the Tuesday collection area.
They will move to the Wednesday collection area on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
Trash and Recycling will be on regular collection schedule Tuesday, Dec. 17 through Friday, Dec. 20.
EWS will issue daily progress reports on the brush collection schedule. Questions about brush and bulky goods collection can be emailed to email@example.com. Continue to monitor www.garlandtx.gov, @garlandtxgov on Twitter, and City of Garland, Texas Government on Facebook for updates.
Garland Power & Light
Power has been restored to most Garland Power & Light customers. Outages should be reported to the Emergency Outage line at 972-205-3000. If a customer has a phone number or drivers license associated with their City of Garland utility account, they can enter that number over the phone. Another option is to have the utility account number in hand when the call is made and enter that number. These methods will quickly enter the outage notification into the outage management system.
Streets and Downed Tree Branches
Most Garland city streets and roadways are in good condition, but drivers should be alert for icy patches following overnight re-freezing.
Heavy ice accumulations result in broken tree branches, which can fall on power lines, block roadways and damage personal and business property. If downed trees or tree branches are blocking public streets or alleys, contact the Garland Streets Department at 972-205-3555.
Downed trees on private property are the responsibility of the property owner. Limbs and branches should be cut and moved to the curb for weekly brush and bulky pickup.
If branches fall onto power lines or are tangled with downed power lines, contact Garland Power & Light at 972-205-2671 during normal office hours or 972-205-3000 after hours and on the weekend. Non-GP&L customers should contact Oncor at 1-888-313-4747.
