Garland to Celebrate New Pet Adoption Center Opening

When:   Wednesday, Oct. 30, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Garland Animal Services wants to place as many homeless pets as possible. That’s why the City is opening a new Pet Adoption Center with a Grand Opening celebration on Oct. 30, 2013.

The new facility will support Garland’s partnership with Garland Pawsibilities and provide a high profile adoption center for homeless pets from the Garland Animal Shelter. Both Garland Animal Services staff and Pawsibilities volunteers will staff the facility which will also host regular low cost sterilization and vaccination clinics for family pets.

Please join the Grand Opening Day fun by attending any of the events listed below.

9 a.m. – 7 p.m. – Open House with adoptable animals available all day at great discounts

10 a.m. – Grand Opening ceremony with ribbon cutting and refreshments

1 – 5 p.m. – Free registration and rabies vaccination clinic for Garland citizens

5 – 7 p.m. – Bring your kids by for trick or treats

6 p.m. – Pet Halloween costume contest with prizes for 1st – 3rd place

Garland Animal Services strives to promote responsible pet ownership, find loving homes for adoptable animals, and to provide access to sterilization and vaccination services for pets.
