The City of Garland Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department (PRCAD) was honored with 2 awards at the annual Texas Recreation & Park Society (TRAPS) state conference held in Lubbock March 6 – 8, 2013. TRAPS is a nonprofit 501(c)3 educational and professional organization committed to advancing the field of parks, recreation and leisure services in Texas. There are approximately 2,000 professional and citizen-advocate members of the Texas Recreation and Park Society.
Administration & Management Excellence Award This award recognizes innovations in administration, management or supervisory actions. The award was given in recognition of the Department’s new aquatic staff training program. The program encompasses a new 80-page Management Team Manual, an all-day training and teambuilding workshop, as well as a leadership development workshop. Click here for more information.
