Vision of the Arts Sculpture Installed at Granville Arts Center

The Vision of the Arts sculpture, a 17.5-foot, 2.5-ton bronze masterpiece, was installed Friday, Sept. 7, at the entrance of the Granville Arts Center. Click here to view a video of the installation.

The Garland Cultural Arts Commission, Inc. (GCAC) invites residents to celebrate the dedication of the sculpture with a wine and cheese reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at the Granville Arts Center, 300 N. Fifth St.

In October 2014, the GCAC appointed a Visual Arts Committee to search for an artist to create a sculpture for the entry to the Granville Arts Center. The committee selected renowned Dallas artist Barvo to design a unique bronze expression of their vision: a diverse community in celebration of dance, music, theatre and the visual arts. Barvo’s design was unanimously approved by the GCAC in July 2015, and small-scale design was approved by the Garland City Council in February 2016.
