As the Garland Police Department begins its patrol car replacement this year, residents will see a new car with a new design. For nearly 20 years, Garland’s patrol car fleet has primarily been made up of the police packaged Ford Crown Victoria. In 2012, Ford stopped producing that package. Chevrolet produces a police packaged vehicle in the Caprice, which the City will use for its replacement squad cars. The new squad cars will have a black and white paint scheme. The white with blue Ford squad cars will continue to be used for the next several years until the entire fleet has undergone replacement.
