Patty Granville Recognized by Dance Council of North Texas
Patty Granville, namesake for the City of Garland’s Granville Arts Center, will be recognized during the 2017 Dance Council of North Texas (DCNT) Honors on Sunday, Oct. 29.
The DCNT will honor Patty with the Mary Warner Award for Service in Dance for her longtime support of the local dance community.
“I am so excited about this award,” said Patty. “It is such an honor!”
Patty has served as director of the Garland Center for the Performing Arts since its opening in 1982. In 2003, the Garland City Council unanimously voted to rename the performing arts center to the Granville Arts Center, where she remains director. Patty is co-founder of Garland Summer Musicals and has served as its producer since 1983.
The DCNT congratulates Patty for this well-deserved honor. Thank you, Patty, for providing countless opportunities for performers, musicians and artisans to participate in their love of musical theatre!
