Garland Ranks Among Top 20 Cities for Halloween

With total Halloween spending expected to reach $8.4 billion this year, up $1.5 billion from 2015, personal-finance website WalletHub released its Best Cities for Halloween report to help Americans prepare for the spookiest time of the year.

WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 18 key metrics, ranging from “number of candy and chocolate stores per capita” to “average cost of a Halloween party ticket” to “Halloween weather forecast.”

The report projects $8.38 billion will be spent on Halloween this year, with $3.14 billion on costumes alone! Americans are expected to spend $547.9 million on candy and more than $300 million on ticket sales to haunted attractions.

Lastly—the scariest finding for kids—the report found that 72 percent of parents say they steal Halloween candy from their kids!
