The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) presented the Garland Water Utilities Duck Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant with the Gold Peak Performance Award for 2015.
Garland Mayor Douglas Athas presented Managing Director of Water Utilities Wes Kucera and Duck Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Alex Stuart with the Gold Award on Oct. 3.
The Gold Award honors treatment plants that achieved 100 percent compliance during the calendar year. For the Duck Creek treatment plant, this encompasses more than 4,000 permit parameters per year.
This award demonstrates the hard work of every treatment employee and their commitment to being good stewards of the environment.
