18 DWI arrests were made during 17 days of increased enforcement. Garland Police stepped up its Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) patrols, from December 18 through January 3, in an effort to keep Garland citizens and visitors safe during the Christmas and New Year Holiday. The added enforcement resulted in 5 DWI arrests. In addition, Garland’s regular patrols logged 13 DWI arrests bringing the total to 18 arrests. The additional enforcement was paid for by a state funded grant from TxDot known as the Impaired Driving Mobilization Grant. PLEASE CONTINUE TO KEEP OUR ROADS SAFE – DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE !!
