Garland Deparments Receive Accolades in Rooflines Magazine
The City’s Code Compliance and Health departments were recognized by the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas (AAGD) in the January 2016 issue of AAGD’s Rooflines Magazine. The departments were featured in a special “Why We Like Garland” entry, in which AAGD lists 10 reasons why Garland’s Code Compliance and Health departments’ practices stand out.
“We were proud to see the article in Rooflines. Over the past few years, our city council and administration have supported us in developing a program that ensures safe housing to all tenants,” said Garland Code Compliance Director Steve Killen.
Killen also acknowledged a noticeable effectiveness of the Code department’s work in Garland communities. “Garland’s multifamily properties have a better curb appeal, violations continue to decline and occupancy rates continue to increase.”
The AAGD is a trade association that focuses on legislation, education and communication for the multi-family rental industry. See the “Why We Like Garland” entry on page 26 of Rooflines Magazine (January 2016 issue).
