The City of Garland’s various communications programs are on the statewide radar for excellence. Garland earned five awards from the 2017 Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) Conference in early June.
Due to the damage to trees and vegetation caused by the recent winter storm, Environmental Waste Services will not be able to pick up all the tree limbs and other excessive brush on the regular collection schedule.
With the re-opening of the Transfer Station, located at 1434 Commerce St., Environmental Waste Services announces that the disposal facility’s new operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Saturdays.
The State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) has honored the Environmental Waste Services Department with its 2011 Environmental Leadership Award for having the outstanding solid waste program in the state.
