Teacher Tubs

Teacher Tubs are clear plastic boxes containing environmental-themed literature, activities, games and classroom decorations.  They are designed to be used after a stormwater pollution prevention presentation is given to an elementary school class.  They may be borrowed for up to four weeks after a presentation is made.  The Tubs are created to assist the classroom teacher in integrating stormwater pollution prevention into an environmental teaching unit.

One Tub is geared at grades kindergarten through 3, and the other is primarily for 3rd through 5th grades.  If teacher use merits creation of more Teacher Tubs, the City of Garland plans to add enough to meet reasonable requests.  If you are interested in the teacher tub, please contact the Public Education Specialist at 972-205-2191.

The concept of the Teacher Tub was borrowed from the Urban Environmental Partnership in Des Moines, Iowa.
