National Weather Service Update as of 1 p.m. Dec. 6, 2013
- Precipitation has ended
- Tree limbs knocking out power will continue to be the biggest impact
- All roadways that become “slushy” from daytime drivers will freeze into solid sheets of ice overnight
- Second storm system will come through Saturday afternoon/evening, but is expected to have little additional impact

Saturday - High-25 degrees, Low-17 degrees
Sunday - High-35 degrees, Low-22 degrees

Dec. 5, 2013 - The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area from 6 p.m. Thursday to 6 p.m. on Friday. A Winter Storm Warning means that significant amounts of snow, sleet or ice are expected or are occurring. This could make travel very hazardous or impossible. The biggest threats for Garland are freezing rain and sleet.
