Building an Engaged & Active Citizenry
Capacity building is an essential component of effective community engagement. It is an intentional effort to increase the knowledge and skills of individuals and groups to participate in important decision-making, initiatives, and development processes. The City's neighborhood capacity building efforts are designed to provide stakeholders with information, education and training to manage the vision and vitality of their neighborhoods, and build relationships that are beneficial to neighborhood success.
Several City departments provide programs and services designed to engage Garland residents and heighten awareness of important issues and trends affecting neighborhoods.
