Reservation Rules

  • All aquatic facilities are available for private reservation by individuals or organizations for recreational purposes only. Any desired use of the pool other than recreational purposes must be approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation or designee. At no time shall the reserving party sublease or assign the lease to another group or organization.
  • Reservations will be accepted through Garland Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department (PRCAD) by persons at least 21 years of age. The individual signing the reservation agreement, here after referred to as the Lessee must be present for the duration of the scheduled activity.
  • Payment for rental of facility is due upon making reservation. There are no exemptions from payment of established rental fees at any of the aquatic facilities.
  • Use of a pool for personal gain or for money raising activities is prohibited unless authorized by the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department Director and then only if proceeds benefit charitable or public service organizations.
  • The Lessee agrees to comply with all City, State and Federal laws. All pool rules apply during the reservation times. PRCAD staff is authorized to determine unacceptable behavior of individuals while on the premises and may request offender(s) to leave and/or cancel the reservation with no refund.
  • Pool staff is included in reservation. Pool is cleared 15 minutes before scheduled ending time. No rental may last later than 10:00 p.m.
  • All reservations must be requested and paid for at least two weeks prior to the reservation date. If the reservation is in less than two weeks, then request must be approved by the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Supervision requirements: two adult chaperones (21 years or older) are required for youth (18 years or younger) groups. One additional adult chaperone is required for each additional 25 youth for groups of more than 150.

The following ratios for agency / day care supervisory staff (minimum age of 18 years) to children shall apply to use of all swimming pools.

  • PRCAD shall be given a minimum of 7 days notice of cancellation for a 75% refund to Lessee. Should cancellation notice be given less than 7 days prior to the date of reservation or should the group fails to occupy the premises at the specified time, all fees paid to PRCAD will be forfeited. For cancellations less than 7 days from the rental date, Lessee must contact the Aquatics Manager at 972-205-2757. PRCAD may cancel a confirmed reservation in case of an emergency, threatening weather or other situations beyond the control of the city. Every attempt will be made to reschedule the reservation at a time convenient to Lessee. If the reservation cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be processed.
  • Rain checks may be issued if it is necessary to close a pool due to inclement weather, mechanical problems or other emergencies directly affecting the safety of the patrons.
  • Parks and Recreation personnel shall be present and provide lifeguards. Only Garland Parks and Recreation certified lifeguards can be used during reservations.
  • Lessee is responsible for any loss or damage to PRCAD property during their reservation. Permission for decorations must be secured from PRCAD at the time the reservation is made.
  • The following items are prohibited:
    - No confetti or crepe paper please
    - No glass containers
    - No metal utensils
    - No open flame
  • Lessee is responsible for cleanup of all food, beverages, etc. brought into the facility. Trash containers are provided.
  • Vehicles are restricted to designated parking areas.
  • The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department reserves the right to void or waive stipulations of reservation contract at any time during the rental time period.
