The City of Garland's Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department hosts several annual events.

Sweetheart Dance

Sweetheart Dance is held at The Atrium in Downtown Garland. Dads, granddads, and uncles, watch your little one shine at the Sweetheart Dance in early February.

Date: 2019 Date coming soon!
Times: Ages 3 to 7 - 5 to 7 p.m.
             Ages 8 to 15 - 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Location: The Atrium - 300 N. Fifth St. - 972-205-2000

Easter Egg Hunt

Children get the chance to hunt for colorful candy and toy filled eggs.  Bounce around in a jump house, go through the obstacle course, and load up on recreation activity information. 

Date: Thursday, March 29th, 2018
Time: Start the hunt promptly at 6 p.m. 
Location: Central Park - 1310 W. Avenue F
Cost: Egg Hunt is Free, small fee for pictures and snacks.

  Jazz on the Square

 Presented by: Rosalind Coffee Company

Experience a laid back, relaxing evening in beautiful Historic Downtown Garland while soaking in the soothing sounds of Jazz. The Texas Instruments Band will be performing on Thursday, May 17th while The Gypsy Playboys will be entertaining the crowd on May 24th.

Date: Thursday, May 17 and May 24, 2018
Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
Location: Historic Downtown Garland Square - 520 W. State St
Cost: Egg Hunt is Free, small fee for pictures and snacks.

Sounds of Summer Concert Series

Garland’s inaugural Sounds of Summer Concert Series is sure to be an excellent way to spend a summer evening under the beautiful Texas stars. Sounds of Summer is a free, family friendly series incorporating various avenues of the arts all into one fun filled series. Festivities begin at 3:00pm with a comprehensive assortment of high quality craft and food vendors lining the square and continue throughout the evening with live music and fireworks to end the event.

Date: Saturdays in June, 2018
Time: Vendors open at 3 p.m. and Main Headliner begins at 7 p.m. with Fireworks ending the night at 9:30 p.m.
Location: Historic Downtown Garland Square - 520 W. State St
Cost: Egg Hunt is Free, small fee for pictures and snacks.
