Transfer Station

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - Transfer Station Temporarily Closed
Environmental Waste Services announces a temporary closing of the Transfer Station, located at 1434 Commerce St., due to construction.  The facility is not accepting any waste at this time.  All vehicles must go to the C.M. Hinton, Jr. Regional Landfill, located at 3175 Elm Grove Rd. The Transfer Station is scheduled to re-open on Wednesday, Oct. 15.  Any further updates will be posted on this site.

Visit the Garland Transfer Station, where you can dispose of non-hazardous solid waste. Customers can haul in trash using cars and pickup trucks.  Box trucks, trailers, flatbed trucks and similar vehicles must haul trash to the C.M. Hinton Jr. Regional Landfill located at 3175 Elm Grove Road in Rowlett.

We are located at 1434 Commerce St. Garland, TX 75040. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday.

Garland residents can use the Transfer Station at no cost with proof of residency - current driver’s license or recent City utility bill:

  • If you cannot supply proof of residency, you will be charged a non-refundable fee.
  • Minimum charge of $10, plus state sales tax.
  • Debit/major credit cards accepted except American Express.
  • Cash - no bills larger than $20, please.
  • Local checks.

Non-Garland residents and customers with small loads of commercially generated waste will be charged a per-ton fee based on weight of load:

  • Security deposit is required.
  • Minimum charge of $10, plus state sales tax.
  • All major credit cards accepted except American Express.
  • Cash-no bills larger than $20, please.
  • Local checks-bring a copy of the driver's license of the person who signed the check.

Acceptable Items 

  • Household trash.
  • Bulky items such as furniture, carpeting, mattresses.
  • Small commercial loads.
  • Construction/demolition debris.

Prohibited Items

  • Dirt, rock, brick, concrete.
  • Tires without rims.
  • Brush/wood waste and clean brush accepted at the Wood Recycling Facility.
  • Liquid and/or hazardous waste.
  • Recyclable commodities, including scrap metal, plastic bottles, glass bottles, newspaper, magazines, shredded paper in clear bags. Recycling and scrap metal accepted at the Drop-Off Recycling Center, co-located at the Transfer Station at 1426 Commerce Street.
