The Environmental Waste Services Department observes the following City-designated holidays:
- New Year’s Day – January 1
- Martin Luther King Day – third Monday in January
- Memorial Day – last Monday in May
- Labor Day – first Monday in September
- Thanksgiving Day – fourth Thursday in November
- Christmas Day – December 25
Offices closed Nov. 28 - 29
No garbage, recycling or brush/bulky goods collection on Nov. 28. Thursday collection routes will move forward to Friday, Nov. 29; Friday collection routes will move forward to Saturday, Nov. 30.
Drop-Off Recycling Center - Closed Nov. 28; open Nov. 29 and 30 (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Transfer Station - Closed Nov. 28; open Nov. 29 (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.); closed Nov. 30
C.M. Hinton, Jr. Regional Landfill and Wood Recycling Facility - Closed Nov. 28; open Nov. 29 and Nov. 30 (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
If a holiday falls on the normal Tuesday through Friday residential collection schedule all collections scheduled on or after the holiday will be made one day later that week. July 4 is an exception. If July 4 falls on a Tuesday through Friday, Environmental Waste Services will run normal collection schedule on July 4.
Please remember, all items must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day.
