|The Garland Quilt Guild will be displaying quilts at the Granville Performing Arts Center, from Nov. 1 - Dec. 8.Members have created quilts of varying sizes, styles, patterns, and colors, from traditional to modern, from large bed quilts to small wall hangings. The quilts on display have been created using a wide range of techniques, including hand and machine quilting, piecing, appliqué, beading, and embellishments. Founded by Barbara Daniel Cissne in March of 2005, the Garland Quilt Guild currently has over 150 members. By recruiting numerous national and local speakers for lectures and workshops, members are inspired through learning new techniques, and also by learning about and developing an appreciation of the history of quilt making. Another important and rewarding activity of the guild is making and donating quilts to Garland charitable organizations. You will also find several small groups within the guild to meet the varied interests of members as well as Secret Pals and a Secret Pal Tea Party for those who wish to participate. The Guild also holds an annual retreat. Forming friendships, sharing information about quilting, leaning new techniques, and supporting the community are important parts of the Garland Quilt Guild. You will see how their love of quilting shines through in the display. To find out more about the Guild, visit us at www.garlandquiltguild.com or www.facebook.com/GarlandQuiltGuild. Art Exhibits at the Granville Arts Center Gallery Space are open 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and during all performances.
