| Since 1980, the Council for Community and Economic Research has published the ACCRA Cost of Living Index for urban areas. The ACCRA survey has consistently rated the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area as one of the most affordable places to live. As of the first quarter of 2011, the cost of basic goods and services is 96% of the average cost of goods nationwide.
