The Gerald Walker Memorial Scholarship Foundation was formed in 1989 in honor of Gerald Walker, the first Garland police officer ever killed in the line of duty. The killings of Officer David Moore in February 1997, and Officer Ronnie Lerma in September 1998, have given us cause to redouble our efforts.
The tournament takes place in April of each year at Eastern Hills Country Club, Garland, Texas. The proceeds provide scholarships for six graduating seniors, one from each of the Garland I.S.D. High Schools.
This year, 2004, will be our fifteenth year, and at this time we have committed $575,000 in scholarship funds to 74 graduating seniors. The amount of the scholarship per student is $10,000.
All monies donated to the foundation go directly to the scholarship fund. Only the direct expenses of the tournament are paid by the foundation. There are no promoters involved. All members are volunteers and no salaries or personal expenses are paid by the foundation.

As you know, education is expensive. Through these scholarships we hope to enable students to go to college who might not otherwise be able. We need your help.
