Changing the Shingles on Your Roof
Permits are required when replacing 25% or more of the decking when re-roofing houses.
You are allowed two (2) layers of shingles before you must tear off and start your layers over again.
No plans are required when submitting for a simple re-roof permit.
Changing the Pitch of Your Roof
When changing the pitch of your roof detailed plans must be submitted along with the permit application showing the change in pitch.
